Rumor has it that the Station Fire was allowed to burn unchallenged for three days to destroy all the illegal pot farms embedded in the San Gabriels. Might explain why some guys in dreadlocks were seen deeply inhaling ash and smoke ...and the unexpected run on 'Funions' at all Foothill Blvd Seven-Elevens.
Latest is that this fire was caused by a someone, not a something. Ignition point = "mile marker 29" of SR2. Someone named Mary Jane, perhaps?
Cost of allowing this fire to increase in size exponentially (literally) before fighting it: $21 million and - like the fire itself - growing.
